Aus dem Chaos
The anatomy of a masterwork

Rembrand — The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp
Where do masterpieces come from? How does a first musical idea become a fully formed work? What happens between the first impulse of inspiration and the moment when everything finally falls into place?
Aus den Chaos takes us inside this creative process, following the development of musical ideas through experimentation, reflection, transformation and discovery.
But this is not only a journey through musical material and compositional technique. It is also an emotional story: one of inspiration and doubt, frustration and discovery, moments of crisis, hard work and the sudden euphoria of finally finding a way forward.
At the centre of the programme is Bach. Reincken and Albinoni provide some of the starting points for exploring how Bach took existing musical ideas and transformed them into something entirely his own. Through motives, textures and melodies, we follow the process of ideas being developed, reconsidered and connected.
Rather than hearing a masterpiece as something finished and untouchable, this programme invites us to discover what lies behind it: the ideas, choices and emotions that allow music to become a world of its own.
